Objective
Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is the prototype of periodic inherited inflammatory disorders. Financial support of the EU is asked to organise the Third International conference on FMF (to be held in Europe for the first time, September 2002, Montpellier, France), and one of the connected action, the meta-analysis. New issues will mark the milestones of this congress: FMF like syndromes; cells and mediators of inflammation, round table with patients, mutations in Europeans from unusual ancestry, relations between inflammatory diseases including modifiers; Help for young searchers; Development of two web sites (registry of mutations and meta-analysis); This project fits with the EU program Quality of Life, RTD of a generic nature 8.1 genome analysis, and will contribute to the dissemination of information between professionals of health for the benefit of patients.
