Objective
The meeting for which funds are being requested will be held on October 21-26,2001, in Eilat, Israel. Its main objectives will be presentation and discussion of recent progress in understanding molecular, pharmacological, behavioural and clinical aspects of cholinergic mechanisms in both the peripheral and central nervous systems. It will bring together basic scientists, viz. electro physiologists, cell and molecular biologists, biochemists, pharmacologists, cognitive scientists and their applied counterparts, clinicians (neurologists, psychiatrists and gerontologists), clinical haematologists and medicinal chemists involved in drug development, and toxicologists concerned with enviroronmental issues. It will involve 71 invited participants, and a total of 300, and will include plenary lectures, oral and poster sessions, workshops and discussion forums. The proceedings will be published and disserninated.
