Objective
The aim of this proposal is to organise an international conference on "Opportunities for Reproductive Health Networking among Portuguese Speaking Countries and European Institutions". The purpose to identify resources that could be shared to strengthen research, training and policy and service development n the Portuguese speaking countries. It would bring together about 40 people (academics, health system researchers, service providers and policy makers) from Mozambique, Angola, Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Portugal, Brazil and also Timor Lorosae and Macau (in China), with other Portuguese speaking European scientists from Karolinska (Sweden), Heidelberg (Germany) and Antwerp (Belgium).
At the end of this International conference we expect to have a report describing the state of reproductive health in the participating countries, their needs in terms of research, training and policy and service development, as well as what each country and participating European Institution can offer to satisfy these needs. Lastly we expect a joint paper to participate in a meeting being organised later in the year by the network co-ordinated by Ghent (contract no IC18-CT98-0351[DG 12-SNRD]).
