Objective MEDNET aims at the development and application of a system, on a safe intranet, for multicoated patient data analyses in medicine. The aim and purpose of this development is to interlink multiple medical institutions for the collection and exchange of anonymous medical patient data for the purpose of performing comprehensive statistical evaluations, which have not been feasible until now for logistic reasons, thus multicoated studies will be part of MEDNET. The system will feature standardised multimode input facilities, including web-based forms, multilingual speech and mobile (bedside) options. A knowledge-based system will query the data pool and provide cornuted-assisted differential diagnosis in evidence-based medicine and the system will provide documentation of individual medical patient data. Planning of exploitation is an important part of the project in a separate work package.
