Web-site & "ask the scientist"

Objective

This proposal is to use current advances in web site technology to provide balanced, authoritative information in non-technical language about the life sciences to the public and, specifically, to implement an interactive "Ask the scientist" resource centre linking public email enquirers with appropriate scientific experts. This will involve the redesigning and upgrading of the established web site of the European Federation of Biotechnology 'EFB) Task Group on Public Perceptions of Biotechnology resulting in a clear, easy to use site for a potentially very large audience of the public and non-specialist professionals. The membership of the EFB provides an extensive already-existing network of eminent life scientists with whom this project will bring the public into direct email correspondence.
