Training network for national contact points, with special focus on newly associated countries

Objective

Since 1999 there are now 11 newly associated states that can participate in the 5th Framework programme. The number of research projects submitted in the June and November 1999 deadlines for the "Quality of Live" programme with participants from these countries was very low. In total only 1447 participants from the 11newly associated states. The aim of TRAIN-NET is to raise the number of participants from the newly associated states by supporting the National Contact Points (NCP) of these countries. To achieve this aim 2 training workshops will behold. In addition a survey of the research landscape of the participating countries will be provided and also a survey to: the NCP service and structure will be given. The envisaged results are, better service for the researchers through better-trained Naps, an overview of the European research landscape and a description of the Naps and how their service can be best exploited.
