Microbiological quality monitoring of sterilized milk using innovative electrical, magnetic, electromagnetic and optical technologies for rapid reliable and sensitive detection of the total spoilage

Objective

The work proposed addresses the priority area 1.3.3. of the work programme Quality of Life and Management of LivingRessource and also indirectly 1.1.1. 1.2.2. and 1.2.4. of the same programme. The main objective is the development of rapid and reliable electrical and electromagnetic methods for detection in sterile milk of the total spoilage micro flora in less than 8 hours compared with 5 days (including incubation time) by the actual and traditional reassuring test. The consortium is a vertical grouping of 5 organisations (including the two SME subcontractors) from 4 European Union countries, combining organisation with a good track record in European RTD. The skills and backgrounds are complementary and technical and management capabilities are high.
