Objective
Food Safety 2000 - Current Status, Future Challenges in an International Food Safety Conference that will be held in November 2000 in London. The scope of the Conference is food safety issues and technological advancements relevant to industry, academia, retail and the consumer. The conference will focus on the problems and issues present within food safety, the future in relation to detection, prevention and research as a method of solving the problems faced. This specific problem has recently been highlighted by the newly appointed President of the European Commission Romano Prod in his recent speech when he highlighted the fact that ' The European public had lost confidence in both National and European food regulators. Therefore the objectives of the Conference are in line with present EC priorities and will facilitate both interaction and discussion, assist with the identification of potential FP5 research projects.
