Biotechnology of oligosaccharides - new alternative for consumer and environmental friendly production.

Objective

European policy for food production is based on ACE principle (A-Animal-friendly-Consumer-friendly, E-Environmentally-friendly). The EC restriction for use of antibiotic growth stimulators imposes their replacement with alternative biotechnological products. The natural structural oligosaccharide carbohydrates (OS), which stimulate and improve the immune status of human and animals represent one perspective solution. The main aim of the proposed project is creation of new generation biotechnological products with high degree of bio safety for the consumers and the environment. The proposal novelty comprises creation of highly efficient and ecologically consistent technology for production of manna- and galactic- OS type from yeast with GRAS-status. The results of the project achievement will contribute to European policy for improvement of quality of life, health and safety.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
