Eurofreeze 2002 : international initiative for enhancing the human research potential, organising a high-level scientific workshop, publication and dissemination activities to advance the frozen food industry in the eu and associated states

Objective

The EUROFREEZE initiative is a further extension of the ongoing EU HyFloFreeze and FLAIR-FLOW projects, designed to bring together a critical mass of food freezing expertise and to push forward the innovations, technology level and competitiveness of the frozen food sector in the EU and associated states. The EUROFREEZE work plan foresees
(I) a young researchers' contest,
(ii) a scientific workshop,
(iii) publication of proceedings, EU monograph and thematic booklets on emerging food freezing technologies, and
(iv) dissemination activities. Strong priority will be given to several emerging technologies, such as hydrofluoric- station, employment of ice slurries, high-pressure freezing, original dehydrofreezing techniques, novel cryogenic modes and magnetic resonance freezing. EUROFREEZE will co-operate closely with relevant international organisations and networks, such as FLAIR-FLOW 4, IIR, IAR, IARW / WFLO and European Commission Research DG.
