Development of a new in vitro test for drugs and vaccine design against plus-stranded rna viruses containig ires elements

Objective

The goal of this work is to optimise an in vitro system:
i) for testing anti-viral compounds that exclusively reduce translation from viral IRES containing mRNAs and;
ii) for rational design of mutations reducing efficiency of viral translation for the development of attenuated vaccine.
