Objectif
There exists a need for an efficient method of controlling mosquito populations using environmentally sound techniques to inhibit the return of such a disease to Europe. This project aims to reduce the incidence of malaria and other diseases in humans and animals by the control of mosquito populations. It also aims to develop technique to predict the migration of mosquito populations relating to climate change and potential risk areas for malaria. Methods exist both for the prevention and cure of malaria, however these techniques are outdated and no longer provide an effective solution to the problems of this disease .The project is concerned with the proofing and development of non-toxic biodegradable surfactant materials for use in the control of mosquito popluations.Initial feasibility studies have shown that this approach is potentially more effective than conventional techniques and avoids the environmental pollution aspects associated with this type of control .
