S. mutans-binding agglutinin, a scavenger receptor gp-340 and sp-d protein complex

Objective

The aim of the study is to structurally characterise the key host molecule, agglutinin, determing the adhesion of cariogenic S.mutans to tooth surface. This knowledge could be applied to generate novel ways to combat the infection.
