Identification of mycobacterial genes necessary for adaptive response and virulence

Objective

In order to further understand the mechanisms behind the pathogenesis of M.tuberculosis I intend to identify genes necessary for survival at different growth conditions using M. spermatic as a model system. Genes identified in M. spermatic will be examined for their role in M. tuberculosis virulence.
