Biosafe coronavirus vaccine vector for the prevention of human infections of the enteric and respiratory tract (BIOSAFE-VACCINE-VECTOR)

Objective

The objective is a comprehensive approach for the treatment and protection against human enteric and respiratory infectious diseases by using a vector based on recently isolated corona virus coda genome that amplifies the gene of interest inducing protection without the production of infectious virus and the development of a transgenic mouse model to test vector efficacy. The vector is produced in packaging cell line that provides an essential component for virus vector replication, missing in the virus genome. Additional bio safety strategies, like the relocation of the genome-packaging signal, will lead to an extremely secure virus vector. The expression system will be applied to the protection against human enteric rotavirus and corona virus causing enteric necrosis in children or respiratory infections in adult.
