Pathology and ecology of the genus clostridium in humans, animals and foodstuffs: identification, epidemiology and prophylaxis

Objective

This Concerted Action is intended to favour exchanges of scientific knowledge and technical know-how on the genus Clostridium, which cause similar if not identical diseases in humans and animals and food poisoning in humans. To do so five scientific meetings are planned with the edition of proceedings and scientific booklets. The edition of four technical booklets is also foreseen to ensure maximal transfer of technical know-how on these bacteria. The precise subjects of the meetings and booklets will be (i) update on clostridial diseases and ecology; (ii) molecular genetics and antibiotic resistance; (iii) protein toxins and vaccination; (iv) classical and molecular diagnosis; (v) food safety and sporulation. A steering committee will follow the progress of the different workpackages. Publicy of the Concerted Action and diffusion of the deliverables will be assured by the creation of a website.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
