Objective Polypeptides and non-ribosomal encoded polypeptides are a rich natural source of antibiotics. Hybrid multienzymes will be engineered containing modules drawn from both PKS and NRPS, and the products characterised. It is aimed both to uncover the rules for productive linking of PKS and NRPS modules and to apply these rules to produce novel and potentially useful peptide-polypeptides.
