Electric dna chips for bioprocess control

Objective

The objective is to develop a patent protected electric DNA chip technology for monitoring of expression of genes that are thought to be critical for production using microorganisms in bioreactors. The project is based on two previous developments, namely the electric DNA chip technology, suitable for quantative mRNA analysis and recent research that demonstrated that physiological stress is induced in common industrial bioreactors which can be monitored by means of mRNA analysis. Thus, the influence of process conditions on gene expression in a bioreactor, can be made available for fast analysis at-line. The technique will be generic, but will in this project be developed for three types of processes provided by industrial partners: production of an enzyme in Bacillus subtitles, production of recombinant proteins in E.coli and production of metabolites of the aromatic amino acid biosynthesis in E. coli.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
