Artemisinin biosynthesis in artemisia annua l.

Objective

The main objective is to increase the production of artemisinin by metabolic engineering. Atomise annual plants will be transformed with constructs encoding a sesquiterpene cycles, amorpha-4, 11-diene syntheses or the MIXTA gene from Antirrhinum involved in glandular trachoma development.
