A european initiative to enhance communication regarding gmo biosafety research

Objective

GMO RES COM will contribute to greater transparency in the area of GMO biosafetyresearch by providing improved access to information to all stakeholders world-wide, including researchers, the general public, industry, government agencies. This project will also make it possible for the voice of the bio safety research community be heard more clearly in the ongoing GMO debate. These objectives will be attained by) creating a GMO-bio safety communication network with centres in France, Germany, Italy, and Hungary's) creating a Europe-wide, web-based, public-access database of projects and researchers active in GMO bio safety research's) providing support for the editorial office of a new international journal in the field and its associated learned society's) participation of European scientists at the 7th International Bio safety Sir, Podium in 2002; 5) hosting the 8th Symposium in Europe In 2004, including North-South and Scientist-public Workshops.
