Objective
Bacteria and fungi will be screened for their ability of lignin biosynthetic reactions. Metabolic engineering of suitable fungal hosts will be performed to construct lignin producing microbial strain. The work is of value for testing novel production hosts for medically and nutraceutically important lingams.
