Advanced training courses on the toxicological risk assessment of chemicals for human and the natural environment with special emphasis on computer-aided exposure and effect assessment

Objective

The proposal aims at organising a series of four annual advanced courses with duration of two weeks, directed at educating European junior scientists in the general paradigm of toxicological risk assessment (TRA), the application of TRA to different categories of chemical substances and the use of computer-aided support instruments for TRA. In the context of sound risk assessment and management of chemicals it is of major importance that expertise in risk assessment methodologies is brought to a uniformly high level in all present and future EC member states. To that end the proposal aims at making the participants aware of recent developments in TRA and using the acquired knowledge for better risk management of chemicals.
