Health effects and risks of transport systems

Objective

HEARTS will develop models for estimating human exposures to multiple health risks from transportation and land use policies, and providing integrated est.-mates of those impacts. Partners will bring into the project databases, models and expertise on air pollution, noise, traffic injuries, time-activity, macro and microscopic transport models, transport and land use policies, and knowledge on exposure-response. Models will be linked into GIS based system tools that are policy relevant. Models will be pilot tested and evaluated in 3 European cities. Data on human exposure will be obtained to validate the models. Health estimates will be compared to actual data for these cities, to check their validity. Trans-port policies available to these cities will be ranked according to their health impacts using the models above. Methods and experience will be widely disseminated

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
