Objective
The emission of electromagnetic field in general and of magnetic field in particular is a common problem for both industrial and residential environment. The interaction between external magnetic fields and electric or electronic devices could cause malfunction due to electromagnetic interference, and recent medical studies have indicated the exposure to magnetic field as a risk factor for several health diseases. The Exploratory Award is proposed to verify the feasibility of a cooperative research program which will develop the design and engineering of active low frequency magnetic field shielding systems both in industrial and in residential environment, and to plan and write the research project to be developed under Step 2. The feasibility verification will be achieved developing four activities simultaneously: a feasibility check activity, a market analysis activity, a novelty verification activity and the search for additional participants. Personnel of Cyborg S.r.l. and external organizations, which have been chosen among those having professional capabilities, will perform these activities.
