Objective
Objective To isolate from tomato regulatory gene sequences that control isoprene formation in fruit that control isoprene formation in fruit. This will be achieved by:
1. Preparation of an activation tang T -DNA vector containing Cam 35 S enhancers and phone syntheses promoter
2. Transformation of the Micro tom variety of tomato with the T DNA vectors and tissue culture
3. Regeneration of transgenic plants and phenotypic analysis by metabolite profiling of isoprenoids
4. Detailed analysis of fruit for altered carotenoid/isoprenoid changes
5. Characterisation of T DNA insertions of plants with altered isoprene levels
6. Generation of stable progeny and confirmation of phenotype by retransformation of tagged sequences
