A novel bioprocess for hydrogen production from biomass for fuel cells

Objective

The application of fuel cells is gaining an increasing in the world of energy production. The advantages of fuel cells are clear: the energy conversion is more efficient systems and emission is zero. However, the feedstock for fuel cells, hydrogen, is derived from fossil fuels and as such contributes to the increase in carbon dioxide. Gasification of the biomass is currently studied as a method to produce hydrogen from renewable resources, but is still hampered by high investment and operational costs.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
