Objective
The proposal addresses the problem of producing a bolus for the controlled release of organic active materials (typically wormers) to ruminants. This bolus should consist of wholly inorganic non-toxic components and should leave no residues in the rumen. The objectives are: - to identify cement with the required binding properties. - To identify any interactions between the cement and the components of the bolus- to establish optimum curing conditions for the cement in the bolus formulation- to establish that the bolus will release the active at the required rate and in an active form in the ruminant.
