Objective The objective of this project is to clone the cytochrome P450 of the GA-biosynthetic pathway from endosperm of pumpkin. The cloned gene(s) will be used to manipulate the GAs biosynthesis by modifying their expression, in order to obtain transgenic plants with improved agronomic characteristics. This estratagy offering a better alternative to the use of synthetic growth retardants.
