Objective
Per urbanisation from the rural point of view is an important question which to date has been studied from the urban point of view only, and not on the European scale. It questions on economic and social mutations within in these rural areas under urban pressure. It raises also the problem of the future of agriculture and competition for land. The research proposes here to characterise the dynamics involved, first of all by characterising the existing forms of per urbanisation and secondly by carrying out comparative analysis on the urban processes at work and rural proper dynamics. To achieve those objectives 6 work packages are planed. They will lead to two types of results, quantitative ones with a typology of diversity of per urban areas, qualitative ones with the characterisation of transformations and emerging conflicts. NEWRUR will propose new tools and recommendations to assist in implementing specific policies territorially suited
