Objective
The organization of the Symposium on "Chemical and non-chemical soil and substrate disinfestations" stems from the willingness of continuing the tradition of the International Symposium on Soil Disinfestations organized in the past by the Catholic University of Leaven (Belgium). It also fulfils the wish expressed by many of the researches involved in the field of soil and substrate disinfestations to meet regularly and discuss the results of their research. The Symposium, which will take place in September 11-15, 2000, is also aimed at extending the topics covered to the non-chemical options recently developed in soil disinfestations as well as to the problems encountered in soulless cultivation systems. Innovative elements of the Symposium are: the attention focused on non-chemical strategies for soil disinfestations; the consideration of soulless cultivation systems and their psychopathological problems.
