The 8th international conference on biotechnology in the pulp and paper industry

Objective

The proposal is designed to enable 'The 8th International Conference on Biotechnology in the Pulp and Paper Industry' on June 4 - 8, 2001, in Helsinki, Finland. The conference is held every three years and has gained remarkable success among scientists and experts from industry. The conference is organised by VTT Biotechnology and Food Research. The purpose will be to offer scientists and industrialists a forum to discuss ongoing scientific and technological issues as well as mutual interests for developing biotechnology in the pulp and paper industry and escort the industrial branch to the new millennium. The conference will offer an opportunity to present the outcome of the 4th and 5th framework programme projects, whose themes for research will be included in programme of the conference.
