Suicide vaccines against animal herpesviruses: Bovine herpesvirus type 1 as a model

Objective

Development of a novel strategy of vaccination against bovine herpesvirus 1 based on a suicide vaccine, which is able to perform only a single cycle of replication after intranasal inoculation. The vaccine combines the high immunogenic potential of a live vaccine and the safety of a killed vaccine.
