Objective
We propose to organise an international conference entitled "Wood, Breeding Biotechnologies and Industrial Expectations" to bring together researchers from academic institutes and industry covering the wide spectrum of expertise in biotechnology and wood sciences. A four-day programme will include invited keynote talks given by recognized scientists working actively in the field, as well as oral and poster presentations. Results of the conference should help the European Commission to identify the main gaps in understanding of this particular area, and define its research policy for the Sixth Framework Programme.
