Objective
The market of algae, especially Spiralling is developing and changing rapidly. Besides quality improvement, there is an increase in the number of species with high quality specifications. Production of algae in closed systems takes place between March and December in northern countries likes The Netherlands. In order to develop this market, there will be a need for high quality production plants. The main purpose of this project is to continually grow high quality algae for a reasonable price between November and May. Increasing the length of the production season will strengthen Greenhouse owners, because the system is very flexible. This production process will increase the economical position of many greenhouse owners, by optimisation of the greenhouse M². The project will make use of the combination of sophisticated closed circuit production and harvesting techniques.
