Mushroom harvesting machine

Objective

Mushroom growing companies widespread in Europe. High quality mushrooms are still harvested manually. As a result of this, the harvesting cost is high. Piching mushrooms manually are very unhealthy labour. Because of this it is very hard to find people who are willing to do this work. Euro champ aims to develop mushroom harvesting machine, which will solve these problems. Using this machine, gravers can harvest mushrooms semi-continuously by which result in higher quality mushrooms. Because of the higher efficiency, the load of the environment will be strongly reduced. The project will be carried out by two machine builders (from the Netherlands and France) and at least two mushroom gravers (The Netherlands, France, Denmark, UK). Main deliverables are: a demonstrable functional prototype of a mushroom harvesting machine, containing a modular picking unit and a separate 3 D vision unit.
