Concerted action to develop a european framework for probabilistic risk assessment of the environmental impacts of pesticides

Objective

The project will join researchers with end-users and stakeholders in a concerted action to address the key issues identified by EU Pesticide Risk Assessment workshop (EUPRA). The EUPRA. Workshop concluded that probabilistic methods would provide important tools :or pesticide risk assessment, provided they were implemented appropriately. The proposed project will directly address the workshops primary recommendations. They include the development of essential methods and data for probabilistic assessments; the establishment of a framework of guidance on how to use probabilistic methods and communicate the results; measures to facilitate the uptake of probabilistic methods by end users; and procedures for peer review of assessments. The project will provide a harmonised framework for the appropriate use of probabilistic methods of pesticide risk assessment in the EU.
