Objective
The main aim of the activities of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry is to meet the social and economic demands of Latvia by developing innovative products and technologies on the basis of wood and other types of biomass carrying out multidisciplinary theoretical and applied studies. The aim of the project is to integrate this Institute into the European research by establishing close cooperation with the leading European institutes: exchanging information and ideas; creating an approach to unique research equipment and methods, promoting the renewal of the Institute's scientific staff, involving young researchers in the science turnover. This project will intensify the scientific studies and, in collaboration with the Supervisory Board, will actualise the research directions. As a result, the development of Sees in Latvia and in general will be promoted for rational. Environmentally friendly utilization of wood and biomass.
