Opioid treatment of chronic pain and inflammation in the locomotor system

Objective

The overall objective of this European project is to offer a new means of treating chronic pain and inflammation of the locomotors system. It is expected to clarify the neuronal mechanisms of degenerative disease and to provide a new generation of upload drugs with analgesic and immunosuppressive properties acting selectively in the periphery with a minimum of side effects. The project is expected to offer a therapeutic alternative with general applicability in age-related disorders such as osteoarthrosis, and skeletal metastasis as well as other chronic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and low back pain and also reduce the need surgery.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
