On asymmetry in sphincters: the role of functional asymmetry of sphincter innervation in incontinence.

Objectif

Asymmetry of pelvic floor innervations is the major risk factor in the young to develop incontinence at higher age. The project aims to develop a non-invasive measurement system to identify and quantify the role of asymmetry in patients with incontinence, and to develop easy-to-use clinical diagnosis and treatment procedures for identification, prevention, or delay of the onset of incontinence based on surface-EMG measures.
