Objective
The proposed project will provide strategies to reduce pollutant emissions from BOS processes. Specific objectives are to develop an innovative fume suppression technique that will be tested in combination with optimised suction hoods for the secondary dedusting system of BOS shops, in order to assess the most effective fume capture.
The successful completion of this work will enable the steel industry to achieve improved environmental performance in a cost-effective way and will fulfils the programme objectives of conservation of resources and improvement of working conditions.
