Objective
This project aims to improve central soundness in rolled long products and thus to increase significantly the current range of rolled sizes made via continuous casting route in one heat.
The main goal is to integrate the solidification and reheating and rolling processes giving rise to a through process control of all the parameters involved. Thus, this project will treat solidification and rolling as an integrated process.
The study will develop a new methodology for central porosity evaluation as well as will integrate new and existing models in the area of solidification and rolling.
