Design of bainite in steels from homogeneous and inhomogeneous microstructures using physical approaches

Objective

There are no satisfying empirical models and only physically based models for special steels available. The aim of the project is to find in literature those formulations of physically based approaches that are most promising. By extensive use of computational thermodynamics and kinetics these approaches will be placed on a broader basis and will be fitted to new experimental data.

So the development of bainitic microstructures in complete groups of modern bainitic- and cold rolled TRIP-, CP-, and DP-steels can be calculated. The use of the new approach will allow designing bainitic structures for improved material properties and will give information about basic physical processes governing the formation of bainite.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
