OPTIMISATION OF FLEXIBLE INDUSTRIAL AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT BASED ON FIBRES AND SYNTHETIC MATERIALS

Objective

Optimisation of flexible industrial and agricultural products based on fibres and synthetic materials has been achieved. The most demanding of the applications of filtration fabrics is that of the filtration of hot effluent gases from fuel burning operations such as those of power stations. The only material existing up to now is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fibres, but this material is very expensive. Other solutions are studied using materials such as polyester or aramid fibres with a treatment or finish which prevents the access of water.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS INITIAL STUDY IS TO DEFINE WHICH ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT LINES OF RESEARCH TO BE FOLLOWED UP.

THE FOLLOWING INVESTIGATIONS WILL BE DONE :

- THE PROPERTIES AND THE BEHAVIOUR IN USE OF SELECTED INDUSTRIAL TEXTILES (INCLUDING FILTRATION FABRICS), CIVIL ENGINEERING AND GEOTEXTILES, AGROTEXTILES;
- NEW TECHNIQUES FOR SURFACE TREATMENT WHICH CAN LEAD TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVED AND NEW PRODUCTS;

- CONSIDERATION OF THE POSSIBILITIES TO SIMULATE WEAR.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
