Objective
SINCE THIS ACTIVITY IMPLIES A PARTICIPATION OF SEVERAL PARTICIPANTS IN A BENCHMARK EXERCISE, IT INVOLVES A CONTRIBUTION TO DIFFERENT METHODOLOGIES ANALYSING EVENT SEQUENCES IN A PROBABILISTIC RISK ASSESSMENT. THE ULTIMATE AIM IS TO IDENTIFY OPTIMUM PROCEDURES SATISFYING THE NEED OF ANALYSTS.
THE ES-RBE CAN BE CONSIDERED AS A LOGICAL EXTENSION OF THE OTHER THREE RBE'S ON SYSTEM ANALYSIS, COMMON CAUSE FAILURES AND HUMAN FACTORS.
ONE OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ES-RBE IS TO INTEGRATE THE EXPERIENCES GAINED IN THE PREVIOUS EXERCISES BY ANALYSING AND QUANTIFYING SEQUENCES OF EVENTS STARTING FROM AN INITIATING EVENT TO VARIOUS PLANT DAMAGE STATES, INCLUDING SYSTEMS PERFORMANCE, DEPENDENCIES BETWEEN SYSTEMS, AND THE HUMAN FACTOR.
THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THIS RBE IS ASSESSING THE DEGREE OF CONSISTENCY OF THE TECHNIQUES USED FOR ANALYSING AND QUANTIFYING EVENT SEQUENCES.
