USE OF WASTE DERIVED FUEL FOR ENERGY PRODUCTION.

Objective

AIMS OF THE PROJECT
TO EVALUATE A TREATMENT OF INDUSTRIAL WASTES ALLOWING AN ENERGY RECOVERY FROM COMBUSTIBLE FRACTIONS BY MEANS OF:
- FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE USE OF REFUSE DERIVED FUEL IN TYPICAL THERMAL UNIT, IN TERMS OF TECHNICAL-ECONOMIC EVALUATION AND DESIGN OF FEEDING AND ASHES REMOVAL SYSTEMS, STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS, CONTROL DEVICES, ETC.
- EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF THE ECOLOGICAL IMPACT OF REFUSE FUEL, ON THERMAL UNIT (ROTATING OVEN) FED WITH FUEL OIL AND REFUSE IN VARIOUS PERCENTAGES (10-50%): AIR POLLUTION, ASHES AND SLAGS CHEMICAL COMPOSITION.
THE STEPS OF THE RESEARCH PROGRAMME ARE THE FOLLOWING:
- EVALUATION OF THE THERMAL UNIT ARRANGEMENT FOR RDF PNEUMATIC FEEDING AND ASHES AND SLAG REMOVAL ON TYPICAL THERMAL PLANT;
- RUNNING TESTS ON THERMAL UNIT WITH FEEDING RDF + PRIMARY FUEL WITH VARIABLE PERCENTAGES (10% + 90% UP TO 50% TO 50%);
- TECHNICAL-ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF RDF USE IN THE TESTED RUNNING CONDITIONS;
- SURVEY ON ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS DURING THE TESTS AND RELATED TO VARIOUS RDF FEEDING PERCENTAGE.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
