PYROLYSIS OF WASTES: COMPARATIVE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF SEVERAL METHODS TO INCREASE THE GAS YIELD BY THE CONVERSION OF TAR

Objective

SEVERAL NEW APPROACHES ARE INVESTIGATED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE PRESENCE OF TAR IN THE GAS PRODUCED IN THE PYROLYSIS OF SEVERAL KINDS OF WASTE (REFUSE, AGRICULTURAL AND FORESTRY WASTES, PLASTICS AND RUBBER).
IN THIS WORK TAR IS REMOVED FROM THE GAS BY ADSORPTION, CONDENSATION, COALESCENCE OR INMPMPINGEMENT ON SOLID PARTICLES AND CONVERTED INTO GAS IN A SUITABLE SUBSEQUENT CONVERSION STEP. THIS STEP CAN BE INTEGRATED INTO THE EXISTING PYROLYSIS PROCESS, AND ELIMINATES THE INVESTMENT AND OPERATING COST OF GAS PURIFICATION.
