Objective
STAGE 1 : PRODUCTION OF PELLETS
HOUSEHOLD REFUSE, WASTE FROM TIMBER INDUSTRY, STRAW FROM AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES WILL BE PELLETISED IN DIFFERENT KINDS OF PELLETISING UNITS. SHAPE, DENSITY, HUIMIDITY AND PETREATMENT WILL BE VARIED FOR THE PELLETS, AND THE PELLETISING METHODS WILL BE EVALUATED.
STAGE 2 : FEASIBILITY STUDY ON DIFFERENT KINDS OF BOILERS
IN THIS STAGE THE FEASIBILITY OF SELECTED TYPES OF BOILERS FOR COMBUSTION OF PELLETS WILL BE EVALUATED.
STAGE 3 : COMBUSTION EXPERIMENTS
SPECIFIC TESTS WILL BE MADE ON THE PELLETS (MEASUREMENT OF CALORIFIC VALUE AND QUANTITY OF SLAGS, ETC.). FURTHERMORE COMBUSTION EXPERIMENTS ON SELECTED BOILERS ARE CARRIED OUT. THE EXPERIMENTS COMPRISE AMONG OTHER THINGS QUANTITY AND COMPOSITIONOF STACK GAS, CORROSION RISK. ALL EXPERIMENTS INCLUDE THE DEPENDANCE ON SHAPE, DENSITY OF THE PELLETS AS WELL AS TYPE OF BINDER.
STAGE 4 : TECHNICAL,ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
THE TOTAL PELLETISING/COMBUSTION SYSTEM WILL BE EVALUATED AND COMPARED WITH THE CONVENTIONAL WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS AS WELL AS THE CONVENTIONAL ENERGY PRODUCTION METHODS. THE EVALUATIONS WILL INCLUDE TECHNICAL, ECONOMIC, AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS.
STAGE 5 : FINAL RECOMMENDATIONSNDATIONS
IN THIS STAGE THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE PROJECT WILL BE PRESENTED.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
