Objective
BRIED DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH PROJECT:
A PILOT PLANT OF A 16 T/D CAPACITY IS BEING PROPOSED FOR THE HOUSEHOLD WASTE SORTING SYSTEM. THREE PROCEDURES ARE BEING PROPOSED: MECHANICAL AND HAND SORTING AS WELL AS COMPOSTING. THE MATERIALS REQUIRED WILL BE FERROUS, PAPER, PLASTIC AND GLASS. ON THE OTHER HAND, ORGANIC MATTER MIXED WITH WASTES LOKE THOSE OF THE VEGETABLE MARKET, WILL BE CONVERTED INTO COMPOST.
THE PROPOSED PROJECT INTENDS TO:
A) ANALYSE ALL THE TECHNICAL POSSIBILITIES OF HOUSEHOLD RECOVERY.
B) INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE MARKETS FOR THE RECOVERED MATERIALS.
C) INVESTIGATE THE TECHNOLOGICAL AND FINANCIAL POSSIBILITY OF THEIR DISPOSAL TO THE DIFFERENT INDUSTRIAL AND AGRICULTURAL SECTIONS.
THE FIRTS STAGE SUGGESTS THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PLANT WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF REFORMING CERTAIN AREAS UP TO THE FINAL STABILIZATION.
ALL POSSIBILITIES OF USING THE RECOVERED MATERIAL WILL BE INVESTIGATED IN THE SECOND STAGE.
THE PILOT PLANT IS COMPOSED OF A BUNKER, BAG SPLITTER, A MAGNET FOR FERROUS, OPTICAL (MANUAL) SORTING OF NON FERROUS METALS, GLASS AND OTHER INERT MATERIALS, WASTE SHREDDING, THE MECHANICAL AND SORTING LINES OF PAPER AND PLASTIC.
THE ORGANIC MATERIAL WILL BE CONVERTED INTO COMPOST WITH THE CLASSICAL METHOD OF WINDROWS.
