Objective
The evaporitic sediments in the Potassic Basin in Alsace will be the subject of an organic- geochemistry investigation into their geological and sedimentological setting with the assistance of mining company. The principal scientific objectives of the project are: - to make progress in determing the geochemical features of evaporites (sulphur-containing molecules, makers of the activity of halophilic and methanogenetic bacteria)
- to study the influence of variations in the sedimentary environment origin)organic content of sediments (amounts, chemical composition, - to study phenomena of redistribution during burial of the mobile fraction of organic matter.
