Objective
High silica zeolites have found important uses in industry as catalysts and adsorbents. They are also of considerable academic interest, because of their particular structural and surface properties. The aim of the proposed projecdt will be to prepare
well-defined crystalline samples of a series of high silica zeolites (ZSM-5, ZSM-12 and ZSM-48), and elucidate the mechanisms of gas adsorption by these materials. A computer simulation study of the physisorption by model pore structures will be undertaken alongside the experimental work.
